Day Two: My Least Favourite Song

Sorry I skipped out on the challenge yesterday- I was, in all honesty, watching the royal wedding. The whole time. I was mostly interested in seeing the dress, and I wasn't disappointed. I love the pretty vintage lace... usually I'm not into long sleeves, particularly on dresses, but that was absolutely wow...

Ok, I'm done raving. Today I'm supposed to post my least favourite song. Now, there are many of those. I'm open to all styles of music, but bubblegum pop, as the wise ninja T-WAC called it, is beyond me.

For example, I can't understand the adoration of Justin Bieber. His concert on the Gold Coast was actually mentioned on the Sunshine Coast news. No joke. They spoke to many of the girls, who actually burst into tears at the mention of their idol's name. Even listening to some of the girls in my grade and younger gushing about Justin Bieber before school is foreign to me and to my lovely Kiwi sister. No, she's not a Belieber either.

But his songs aren't my least favourite songs. Gasp, shock, horror!! But really, they're not. And there is one simple reason- and that reason is named Rebecca Black.

Now, I have nothing really against Rebecca Black, she really can sing. I saw an interview with her and listened to her sing part of the American national anthem, which was actually really good. (If you don't believe me, watch it for yourself; I've posted the video below.)

Rebecca Black on Good Morning America

Plus, this interview really opened my eyes to how incredible she is, despite the song she's become known for. She's braved all the hate comments and continued doing what she wants to. Good on her! That doesn't mean I adore her song Friday though; in fact it is my least favourite song. Without a doubt. I'm assuming you've heard the song but if you haven't, I've posted it here:

Friday- Rebecca Black

I promise I will post at some point tomorrow with a song that makes me happy!!

Day One: My Favourite Song

As you may have realised, today's leg of the thirty day challenge is to share my favourite song with you guys. That's a very hard thing to do. I have waaaayyyy too many songs that I love. It's more like a top five, but as there's so many days to do it, I'll just name one of them.

One of my favourite songs, and has been for a fair while right now, is by the band Evanescence. They're like Gothic rock, and they are amazing. I think their front woman, Amy Lee, is absolutely epic!

Of course I've thought that about many a front woman, such as the stunning Hayley Williams of Paramore fame, and Gwen Stefani, former lead singer of No Doubt and now solo artist, with her own fashion label, L.A.M.B and her Harajuku Lovers perfumes (which smell  scrumptious!!).

Back to the point, which was my favourite song... my favourite song by Evanescence is Bring Me To Life! I've posted the video below so that if you don't know it by name, or if you've never heard it before, you can!

Hope you like it! Stay tuned for tomorrow's post, my least favourite song!

Because I haven't been posting at all lately, I've decided to do one of the thirty day challenges to get me back into the habit. Starting today, I'm going to do the thirty day song challenge.

Day 07 – A song that reminds you of a certain event
Day 08 – A song that you know all the words to
Day 09 – A song that you can dance to
Day 10 – A song that makes you fall asleep
Day 11 – A song from your favorite band
Day 12 – A song from a band you hate
Day 13 – A song that is a guilty pleasure
Day 14 – A song that no one would expect you to love
Day 15 – A song that describes you
Day 16 – A song that you used to love but now hate
Day 17 – A song that you hear often on the radio
Day 18 – A song that you wish you heard on the radio
Day 19 – A song from your favorite album

April Fool's and Fashion Blogs

I love April Fool's Day. So many pranks to pull in one day. I'm ashamed to say that I didn't have anything planned, but Smiley and I did get one of the guys a good one the other week. We told him she was getting expelled, which he believed and got rather uptight about. It was going very well, until I couldn't hold in my laughter anymore, which set her off, which gave it away.

But that aside, our class did pull one on one of our teachers in Geography. Someone had the idea of taking their laptop out of its case, hiding it and putting their books inside it instead. For geography, we were on the second storey of one of the buildings. The guys were pretending to push each other around (jokingly!) just as our teacher showed up. Then one of the guys pushed another and his "laptop" got shoved off the railing. The facial expressions were priceless! She got let in on the joke after he went to show her "the big crack in it!!" Very funny.

I heard about my sisters' teacher-pranking antics while we were waiting for mum to pick us up. Sister number one (aka middle sister) swapped classes with the year sixes to prank her teacher. Sister the Second (little-est- sister) then shared that she and the rest of her class swapped the coloured ink in the whiteboard markers. Mum forgot all about it being April Fool's Day. I'm kind of glad about that, otherwise we would've been in for it. Big time.
'
The other news of the week (and of the year, really) is that tonight we're headed to the airport to pick up my exchange sister! Will keep you posted on how that goes; pretty exciting! I'm also trying to convince Smiley to start a fashion blog. She's an aspiring fashion designer, and she's really good!! She can sew a skirt with pleats and ruffles in an hour, tops. She made a vest in three weeks, and she only did it in class time (I think). She makes the most epic stuff, designs epic stuff, and I reckon it should be known to the world!! Vote on the poll so I can prove that to her!! Anyway, I'm getting really hungry now, so I'm going to sign off.
