Day Twenty-One: A Song I Listen To When I'm Happy

They're not getting any easier now, are they? A song that I listen to when I'm happy could be any song. I listen to music when I'm happy, sad (which I believe is tomorrow's post) and angry. Any song, really. A song I listen to when I'm happy. But I could say a song that I do like to listen to, because I do listen to when I'm happy, and it makes me ecstatic. Well, it did once upon a time, and probably still will.

It's a song that I used to hear A LOT out places. When I went out with my lot, it would always play. That was back when I had a man, and that was our song. You know what I mean. It just happened to be the perfect song for us, you know? And it might still be... But that's another story *smiles*.

It's a song with lotsa synth by a band that's basically rap gone pop. I mean, they still have bits and pieces of rap, like most pop pieces these days. Every pop song there is, it's basically the song title by someone featuring someone else. Like, here's two out of the hundred (no joke, there are 100) examples from my iTunes. There's Price Tag by Jessie J feat. B.o.B and there's *shudders* Baby by Justin Bieber featuring Ludacris. And that person who's doing the feature has a 30 second rap before the last several repeats of the chorus. Am I the only one who's noticed that pattern that all those songs have? This is not one of those songs but. I'll post it here:

I Gotta Feeling- The Black Eyed Peas

How cool is the glow-in-the-dark action of that video?! Anyway, I gotta head off and do a mock pack of my bag. I'll post tomorrow night, hopefully!

Day Twenty: A Song I Listen To When I'm Angry

This one's a bit more complicated to decide on. A song I listen to when I'm angry. Hmm. Well, I have a playlist that I listen to, but no particular song that I listen to. Hmm, I'll put it on shuffle and see what comes up.

Ahah, I've got one. It's a My Chemical Romance song called Thank You For The Venom. It sucks that I have no particular story to go behind this one. It's kind of annoying, really. I usually would be able to come up with something, but for some reason, I can't. Maybe it's because I'm sick. I hate being sick. I have headaches nearly every day and I can't stop blowing my nose. I'm on my third box of tissues in two days!

It gives me a lot of time to think, though. That's something I could really do with at the moment. Thinking. I have a lot of confusion in my head at the moment. Spinning, spinning, out of control. Accompanied by a certain song that has a lot of memories wrapped up in its four minutes or so of synthetic sound. But that's another story. There's no video for Thank You For The Venom, so I've just posted the lyric video:

Thank You For The Venom- My Chemical Romance

It is a great song! Anyway, I have to go and practice my closing address for my mock trial tomorrow. I'm a barrister, so I have to give it. That is, if I can breathe properly tomorrow and exhale without the need to cough up a vital organ. Tomorrow I shall post a song that I listen to when I'm happy. Hmm...

Day Nineteen: A Song From My Favourite Album

I'm doing better at the regular posting thing now, I think. Maybe. Even though I know that I'm only posting right now because I forgot the task sheet for my religion assignment. The general idea of that is that I choose a social justice issue and write a 400 word essay on what I think should be done about it, why I chose it and the stance of the Catholic church on it. I picked an issue that my friends and I feel very strongly about- gay marriage.

If there were ever a debate on whether or not it should be legalised, I am confident that we would win. Lemur actually ended her essay (which was on the same topic), with something along the lines of: "The Catholic church should just keep their noses out of people's private lives." I usually like school assignments to be professional and all, but I told her that was acceptable to write. My essay is very passionate as well. One of the guys asked if I could show him my report to give him an idea. As with all controversial topics, there are two sides, and it just so happens that he's on the other. When he said that I was wrong, he got a very passionate lecture for about ten minutes on why he was wrong.
Ok, I'm going to try and stay on topic now. The idea of tonight's post is, as you can see, a song from my favourite album. I have a lot of albums. I have albums that I love. It's very hard to pick one to be my absolute favourite. However, there is, of course, the one I treasure like a child- Stack Is The New Black. The one I would rescue, was there ever a fire. Okay, maybe that's going to extremes. Technically, I treat my iPod like my child and if I could only rescue one material possession, that would be it. It has all my photos, all my music and videos, 90% of my writing pieces as well as books- a whole world of wonderful books. It's not quite the same as a print book, but it's still words on a page that can be read and be amazingly beautiful.

The Top 25 Most Played playlist on my iTunes is predominately Short Stack. 12 out of the 25 songs on that list are by Short Stack. And then there's their greatest inspiration, Blink-182, a song from Shaun Diviney's favourite album (Panic! At The Disco) and their friends, Heroes For Hire. Among those, strewn about here and there are Gyroscope, Metro Station, The All-American Rejects, Paramore and even a Ke$ha song, David Guetta and Luciana. But still they are almost half of that playlist. And most of those Short Stack songs are from the album I was talking about before- Stack Is The New Black. Go figure.

Here's a song with an epic video to make you drool (you know, if you're that way inclined):

Princess- Short Stack

For those of you who watched Sway Sway Baby! when I posted it, you would probably note the reappearance of the bunny, who is joined by Jesus, Elvis, a bear, a random Mexican guy and... I think that's it. Enjoy.

Oh, and for those of you who love me and think I'm awesome, please hit up my Wattpad account, which is Lonedreamer96. I have three stories that I'm currently working on- Dark Winter, Three Times Lucky and Death By Chainmail. I also am posting a few poems every so often to Silent Death. It still named the same as the first poem because I haven't been able to think of a good name for it. Feel free to help, and please read, comment, vote and fan me!! If you have any stories there that you'd like me to read and give feedback on, then post on my message board!

Day Eighteen: A Song I Wish I Heard On The Radio

Well, I managed!! My science assignment was handed in today, and I was very proud of it. I should be getting a majority of As, which should equate to an A total. I handed it in and the task sheet wasn't even dog-eared or stained- then Mr. Science Teacher decided we should have another assessment. So it's back to the lab- well, we did that part already, so I guess laptop?- to write up a prac report. Now, I'm not that adverse to science, really. To me, it's a hell of a lot better than standing in the middle of the sports oval on a stinking hot day, having to run around and you don't get much of a rest because unfortunately, you're not quite as fast as the other kids. But that's another story.

Today's post is a song that I wish I heard on the radio. There are so many of these it's just. Not. Funny. The sort of music I listen to is different, seeing as most radio presenters aren't screaming teenage fan girls or metalheads. Even if they were, there's none of those kinds of stations around here. If only... I am actually considering getting involved with radio at this point in time. And I would play good music, and do interesting segments, like Mark and Caroline, whose voices grace the car every morning without fail. Ninja Radio... I can just see it now. Or Ninja Magazine. Or Ninja Lawyers, though that doesn't really sound very professional. At all.

You see, at this stage in my short, teenage life, I'm as yet undecided as to exactly what I want to do after school... in the Real World. Gulp. See, it's really not that far away. Two and a half years mightn't seem that short in theory, but in reality, it's not that long. September next year, I can drive. It seems like just yesterday I was five years old and admiring the bright pink Volkswagen Beetle cake mum made for my birthday, modelled from an old Barbie car I had and adored. Now I'm walking around with my friends, pointing out the cars that I like. Though naturally, my friends have already decided what my first car will be. They have their hearts set on me owning a white van with tinted windows, and when I get it, giving me a bag of lollies to eat on the way, because that description is undescribably sinister. If you get why that's so humourous, I have a feeling you'd get along just fine.

Off topic, yet again. A song that I wish I heard on the radio. Well of course there's my beloved unsigned beauties that I love so dearly. To hear any of their songs played on the radio would just warm my heart so nicely, like sitting by the fireplace on a cold night. Yeah, that was corny, but it's true. I don't think I've actually posted any The Monster Goes Rawrr!! songs as yet, but I know I've linked them a couple of times. They're so amazing; you must listen and like; then love. You will. I just know it. Here's my favourite song by them in the whole wide world- the one that came up in my iTunes suggestions box that fortunate, fortunate day. There's no video, so I've chosen the one with lyrics. There is a teency bit of language for some of you that may or may not be sensitive to that kind of stuff, but here is #ihaveablackbeltinawesome!!

#ihaveablackbeltinawesome- The Monster Goes Rawrr!!

Those of you who thought you could not bother to check out the links and that I'd never know... I'm coming for you. All of you. Just joking, obviously, as I honestly have no idea where you're from. And chances are, that would involve expensive flights, and that would cost money, and I have no job. Beauty. Post a comment as to where you're from!! But you really should check out their websites, because they are truly talented, and- added bonus here- you can actually download all their songs for free. Yes, for free. No coins, no cash, no credit, no moolah at all. Big fat free. There's twelve whole tracks on their PureVolume page, which you can find here. This includes a brand spankin' new track called Shut Up And Dance which I am downloading as I type.

Tomorrow (or whenever; I don't really want to jinx it!!) will be the post on.... I don't know. *3 second check* oh, it's a song from my favourite album. Guess which album that is, hmm?

Day Seventeen: A Song That I Hear Often On The Radio

I honestly think that I really, really suck at regular posting, but this week has been more hectic than I expected!! It's one of the last weeks at school, so all my assignments are due next week, all the drafts were due this week, we had two excursions and mum's birthday! Phew!

Ok, the post topic is a song that I hear often on the radio. Like I said, there's no one radio station that I listen to. I swap around a lot between three of them. Mix FM, Hot 91 and Sea FM. Sometimes Triple J too, but only occasionally now that I know what frequency it's on.

Because of this, I'm going to use the one I find to be common with all three usual stations; that was played very often when it first came out. It's a pop song, I know, but it's not that bad. I like it. It's by another singer that I almost got to see in concert, but didn't. Maybe that would be because it was the week after the exchange started and all. Speaking of which, I have three weeks left in Australia!! I'm really excited; but I have to go and do another brief speech to my rotary club to get my uniform... yeah, we get a uniform, but only for travel! Before I go off on my usual ramblings, here's the song:

Teenage Dream- Katy Perry

I would love to stay and write a lot more, but I have to get back to assignmenting! Due in tomorrow is my 800 word report on acids, bases and salts for science. Fun. Tomorrow I will try to post, but that mightn't happen. But when I do, I'll post a song that I wish I heard on the radio!
